This weekend, Formula 1 will arrive in Saudi Arabia for the first time. The Jeddah circuit will be the 78th in a row where the race stage will take place.

The layout was developed by Karsten Tilke, Hermann’s son. The Corniche resort, famous for its walks along the Red Sea, was chosen for the construction of the track.

Jeddah Corniche Circuit is the largest urban circuit on the calendar. With a track length of 6175 meters, it is second only to Spa this season.

The layout includes – 27 corners, with an average speed of 252 km/h – higher than that of Silverstone. One of the most spectacular and difficult corners is the 13th with a 12-degree slope, the speed can reach 322 km/h.

It is one of the four tracks on the calendar this season, along with Bahrain, Spielberg, and Mexico with three DRS zones.

Based on the simulation results, Pirelli has decided to bring the compounds – C2, C3, and C4, corresponding to Hard, Medium, and Soft – it is the most popular combination this season.

Sunday, there will be 50 laps for a race distance of 308.450 km.
