In the rankings, Ferrari takes the lead ahead of Mercedes and Haas
After the first Grand Prix of the season in Bahrain, the Scuderia Ferrari takes the lead in the constructor's championship with a one-two finish, ahead of Mercedes who performed well.
At the end of this thrilling first race, Ferrari and Charles Leclerc are starting their 2022 season perfectly by accumulating the maximum amount of points possible with a one-two finish and the fastest lap in the race. Mattia Binotto didn’t want to wear the favorite’s costume, but he will have to accept putting it on.
On the other hand, the big disappointment of this race is for Red Bull. They experienced a real nightmare after the intervention of the safety car. Max Verstappen was the first to pay the price with a battery problem, followed by Sergio Perez experiencing the same issue on the last lap while defending his third place against Lewis Hamilton. As a result, this led to a double retirement for the Austrian team.

Great performance from Haas, who now sits in third position in the constructors’ championship with a magnificent performance from Kevin Magnussen and his fifth-place finish, as well as Mick Schumacher, who achieved his best result in Formula 1. The American team has had one of its finest races after two years at the back of the pack.
Disappointment also for McLaren, who did not bring any of their cars into the points. The team has still not solved the problems they encountered during the winter tests and are currently fighting at the back of the pack.
Mercedes does well at the end of this race with a podium finish from Lewis Hamilton just ahead of his new teammate George Russell, thanks to Red Bull’s double retirement. However, the German team still remains behind the pace of the favorite teams due to the persistent issue of porpoising on the straight.
Finally, Alfa Romeo gets its two cars in the points with a sixth place for Valterri Bottas and a tenth position for Guanyu Zhou, who scores his first points in his first race as many great drivers have done before him, such as Hamilton or Vettel.
