Leclerc’s pole position threatened in Melbourne
Charles Leclerc and Yuki Tsunoda were called by the race stewards in Melbourne after the qualifying session. Both drivers are suspected of driving too slowly. The pole position of the Ferrari driver is at risk.
The regulation requires drivers to respect a minimum lap time between two fast laps in order to avoid obstructing other drivers or causing an accident due to an abnormally slow speed.
Charles Leclerc and Yuki Tsunoda both drove below the minimum time in Melbourne during qualifying, so they are both at risk of receiving a penalty as per Article 33.4 of the FIA Sporting Regulations.
