After Miami, the Red Bull/Verstappen grip tightens on Leclerc in the championship more than ever before

Leclerc still the leader, but for how long?

The Drivers’ Championship is still led by Charles Leclerc. The Constructors’ Championship is still led by Ferrari. However, in 2 Grand Prix, the trend highlights the significant progress of Red Bull and the unstoppable rise of Max Verstappen.

On the driver’s side, Verstappen, in second place, is 19 points behind Leclerc. More than 40 points separated the two drivers after three races at the beginning of the season. If Leclerc’s lead continues to diminish at this rate, it may only last for three more Grand Prixs… Leclerc himself says that if he wants to be able to compete with Red Bull, Ferrari will have to improve.

Perez, Russell, and Sainz still hold the same positions after Miami. However, it is Lewis Hamilton who overtakes Norris in the championship, securing the 6th place. The top 10 is then composed of Bottas, Ocon, and Magnussen.

Ferrari VS Red Bull

The battle for the constructors’ ranking is still in Ferrari’s favor over Red Bull, but their lead is gradually diminishing. Only 6 points ahead. A victory by Max Verstappen and Red Bull would take the lead.

The battle for the championship is clearly underway between these two teams. After 5 races, Mercedes, the third force in this 2022 championship, is 56 points behind Ferrari, despite being one of the most reliable teams at the beginning of the season.

The constructor’s ranking continues with McLaren, who takes a 156-point lead over a tight group consisting of Alfa Romeo, Alpine, AlphaTauri, and Haas, separated by only 16 points. Aston Martin is in 9th place with just a three-point lead over Williams.
