The Hungarian Grand Prix, the 13th race of the season already, will be the last one before the Formula 1 summer break. The Grand Prix is already shaping up as exciting due to the weather forecasts, which are pessimistic for Saturday and Sunday.
Heavy thunderstorms are indeed forecasted for tomorrow, Saturday, which will disrupt Free Practice 3 and the qualifying rounds. Rain is also expected, with estimates ranging from 5 to 10 mm throughout the day, which is quite a significant amount if it occurs within just a few hours.
The weather this Friday for the free practice sessions should remain sunny with temperatures reaching up to 32° in the afternoon.
Saturday, storms are therefore part of the plan with forecasts of rain between 10am and 1pm, and between 4pm and 6pm. Temperatures will drop by 10 degrees to reach a maximum of 24° in the afternoon, which will not help maintain tire temperature or dry the track.
For the race on Sunday, rain is expected around 1pm, so a few hours before the start which is at 3pm. The track could therefore be wet for the start and potentially lead to a safety car start.
