In a statement published by the FIA – International Automobile Federation – Mercedes team personnel involved in operations on the race cars were seen on the circuit during a curfew period that stretched from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning before the Hungarian Grand Prix.
The regulations require teams to observe a rest period on the night from Wednesday to Thursday before Free Practice 1. This rest period starts 42 hours before Free Practice 1 and ends 29 hours before Free Practice.
In Hungary, it means that at 8 PM, no one from the team should be working on the cars anymore.
This is the third curfew violation report received by the FIA regarding Mercedes. The team is allowed to break 8 curfews per season, so they have 5 left.
