IWC is one of the sponsors of Mercedes. The watchmaker also sponsors aviation competitions, and on this occasion, the brand brought together a fighter jet and Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes W12 for a shooting, including a standing start with the jet.
Hamilton also took part in a flight in the fighter jet with the IWC pilot. It should be noted that the clauses in the pilots’ contracts stipulate that they cannot take excessive risks. These situations therefore rarely occur for Formula 1 drivers, who are more accustomed to driving on four wheels than sitting in a fighter jet.

Note that this is not the first time that a Formula 1 car is pitted against a fighter jet. Red Bull had already done a similar comparison a few years ago and more recently, last season with Max Verstappen.
