1000€ fine for Tsunoda for speeding in the USA

Yuki Tsunoda was caught speeding in the pit lane by more than 10 km/h during the qualifying session of the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. With a fine of 100 € per kilometer per hour over the limit, the FIA imposes a penalty of 1000 € on the Japanese driver.

The regulation provides for a speed limit of 80 km/h in the pit lane and can even be reduced to 60 km/h. In Austin, this limit is 80 km/h and the Japanese driver was caught speeding at 90.3 km/h.

The regulation in article 34.7 specifies that the maximum financial penalty for exceeding the speed limit in the pits, even by more than 10km/h, is 1000€. Therefore, AlphaTauri is required to pay this amount of 1000€, even if the excess is 11km/h rounded.
