Small fine for Stroll for speeding in the pit lane

The regulation specifies that the speed limit when passing through the pit lane must be lower or equal to 80 km/h in Austin. However, the Canadian driver exceeded the radar line by just a little: 80.6 km/h.

These additional 0.6 km/h cost Lance Stroll a financial penalty of €100. Article 34.7 of the F1 sporting regulations states that for every kilometer per hour exceeded, a fine of €100 is imposed.

In this case, it is the team that is subject to the fine. Aston Martin will be required to pay €100 to the International Automobile Federation.

Tsunoda, who exceeded the limit by more than 10km/h yesterday, has been sentenced to pay “only” 1000€ instead of 1100€, since the financial penalty is limited to a maximum of 1000€.
