Fernando Alonso will be Lance Stroll’s teammate next year at Aston Martin. But for now, the two drivers are not very synchronized when it comes to overtaking. While Fernando Alonso is in Lance Stroll’s slipstream, both drivers move aside at the same time, and Alonso violently collides with Stroll.
By breaking his front wing and landing on the tire of the Aston Martin, Alonso nearly literally took flight. Thankfully, the floor suctions the air underneath and narrowly prevents him from taking off.

In the violence of the accident, Stroll’s Aston Martin was completely destroyed, causing the arrival of the safety car and the withdrawal of the Canadian driver.
Alonso’s Alpine was able to get back on track after changing the front wing and tires.
The accident will be analyzed after the race by the commissioners to determine responsibility.
