Red Bull puts on its show in Mexico in Guadalajara, Perez’s hometown
Red Bull brought Sergio Perez back home to the Mexican city of Guadalajara, Formula 1. The roadshow team came together to offer a spectacular event ahead of the Mexican F1 Grand Prix.
Red Bull is one of the Formula 1 teams that performs the most tours with roadshows around the world. In addition to using Formula 1 as a promotional image for its cans, Red Bull and AlphaTauri often bring a lot of equipment to each Grand Prix, such as simulators or attractions for the public.
The roadshow team gathered this time in Guadalajara, the city where Red Bull driver Sergio Perez was born. For the occasion, the Mexican raced in front of his adoring fans with over 130,000 spectators in this large city that has over 1.5 million inhabitants.
“It is a dream that has become a reality today,” commented Perez after the event. “I want to thank everyone who made this possible. It was a very special day and I hope the residents of the city will remember it forever.”
(D) Many people who were present today have been supporters from the beginning, and I know that they cannot attend the Grand Prix for many reasons, so going against them is really extra special. I hope I can give them another special moment on Sunday during the race. (F)
Sergio Perez, who has never yet won a Grand Prix with Red Bull, could indeed receive assistance from Verstappen if the Mexican is in a position to win this weekend. With Red Bull and Verstappen having won the 2022 constructors’ and drivers’ titles, it remains to give everything to support Perez so that he becomes the vice world champion. A victory would therefore be strategically interesting for the Austrian team.
In addition to the Formula 1, a 2011 RB7, other cars drove in front of the spectators, notably a Skoda WRC and motorcycles. Parachutes also put on a show.
