The Mexican Grand Prix came to an end in 2023. It has been extended for at least two additional seasons, with a guaranteed presence on the calendar until 2025.
The announcement has just been made by the governing bodies of F1 with Stefano Domenicali at its helm, the former director of Scuderia Ferrari. I am very pleased to announce that F1 will continue to visit Mexico City for another three years.
The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit is welcoming more and more F1 fans in Mexico, and the revenues are only increasing for both F1 and the teams who receive a percentage. In 2021, nearly 10,000 jobs were created as a result of the Grand Prix, and 768 million euros were generated in economic benefits for the region.
Every year, the circuit welcomes more and more passion, and the atmosphere here is incredible. I know that everyone will be happy to hear this news. I want to thank Claudia Sheinbaum, the Mayor of Mexico City, and Alejandro Soberon and his team for their dedication in extending this event.
Mr. Soberon, the President and Director of the Inter-American Entertainment Corporation, also spoke on the subject: “This contract extension was made possible thanks to the leadership of Ms. Sheinbaum and the Mexico City municipality. The opportunity to host a Grand Prix in the capital until 2025 is the result of coordinated efforts to preserve the interests of the region and make thousands of fans happy.”
