All teams will have to stay at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi for a few days to have young drivers drive the current single-seaters. Mercedes has selected Frederik Vesti, who will drive in Formula 1 for the first time on this occasion.
“A childhood dream is about to come true!” exclaimed the Danish driver born in 2002. “On November 22, I will drive for the first time in Formula 1 with Mercedes. It’s an incredible sign of trust, and I am grateful for it.”
Fredrik Vesti has been part of the Mercedes young driver program since 2021 and is driving for Art GP this season alongside Théo Pourchaire. He notably won the sprint race in Baku this season. Before the final round of the season, he is currently ranked 8th with 117 points.
Mercedes has not yet confirmed if other drivers will be racing on the W13.
