Pirelli has put in a lot of effort this off-season to test the tires proposed for the 2023 Formula 1 teams and thus optimize the performance of each tire compound.
On the 14th and 15th of December, AlphaTauri was deployed at the Portimao circuit in Portugal to assist Pirelli in testing the tires.
The rain has shown up on the track, while the plan was to test the slick tires (soft to hard).
According to our information, the two AlphaTauri drivers for the 2023 season were mobilized: Yuki Tsunoda and Nyck de Vries, the new arrival replacing Pierre Gasly, who went to Alpine.
It was about the final tire tests for 2022, with the next ones taking place from February 1st to 4th at Paul Ricard.
