Video: Impressive images of flooding in the paddocks at Imola

Our journalists usually arrive at the Grand Prix on Thursday and collect their accreditation on Wednesday. In Imola, as the Grand Prix was canceled as early as Wednesday, no journalists were able to go to the F1 paddock, except for F1, FIA, and team personnel.

Very few images are thus published about the condition of the track. In this video, we can clearly see the proximity of the track to the river that overflowed its banks just a few meters from the Imola circuit.

The majority of the paddock trucks have thus been able to be evacuated and moved to higher ground, on the same circuit, while some Pirelli trucks are parked in the flooded area, with approximately sixty centimeters to one meter of water. The F1 TV facilities, including the control room, are located in the flooded zone.

Fortunately, the precipitation has calmed down since Wednesday and the teams can now access the circuit again to dismantle the motor-homes and the paddock in order to go to Monaco.

Monaco is a unique event since the infrastructure is limited there and most of the facilities are already prepared. On their side, most of the drivers, except for those from AlphaTauri, had not yet arrived at the circuit. Formula 1 and the FIA made the decision well in advance to avoid any issues or risks for the drivers.
