Sebastian Vettel has reunited with his Red Bull RB7 at the Nürburgring
The four-time world champion was participating in an event organized by Red Bull on the legendary Nürburgring track. On this occasion, several Formula 1 cars took to the track.
He is taking the wheel more and more. Not in competition, but during demonstrations aboard old F1 cars. Already this year, Sebastian Vettel took to the track at Goodwood with Nigel Mansell’s old Williams, powered by synthetic fuel.
This Saturday, September 9th, the German was present in Germany with a racecar with which he won a driver’s title. On the Nordschleife of the Nürburgring, the four-time world champion got back behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB7, from 2011. This one was also fueled by synthetic fuel.
With other F1 legends
(I) I have the impression of being in a time capsule. Many memories came back to me once I got into the car », assures Sebastian Vettel. (I) It’s a lot of fun to drive on the grand circuit and do it in a way that I enjoy. Somehow, everything is coming together here today, including the fact that we are now driving the car with carbon-neutral fuel. »
What’s great is that you don’t feel any difference in the car, it’s just as fun to drive it with synthetic fuel.
A Lauda on track
Sebastian Vettel was not the only Formula 1 driver at this event. The current AlphaTauri driver, Yuki Tsunoda, was also among the long list of guests. Former Red Bull driver, David Coulthard, was present and replaced the injured Daniel Ricciardo, who was supposed to participate. Lastly, Gerhard Berger, Jos Verstappen, and Ralf Schumacher drove on the famous German circuit. Mathias Lauda was able to thrill the audience with his late father’s 1974 Ferrari 312 B3.
