New record of connected spectators and victory of Depielo over Alpine during the GP Explorer

The record of simultaneous online readers on the Twitch platform was broken this Saturday in France, thanks to the event organized by Squeezie, the GP Explorer 2.

This event, condensed into one day and bringing together 24 non-professional drivers behind the wheel of F4 cars on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, was organized for the second time. The streamer and YouTuber Squeezie is the originator of the concept. A non-FIA “Grand Prix” organized with practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and a race all in one day.

This event brought together 60,000 spectators in the stands of the Bugatti circuit, in one day. In comparison, the 24 Hours of Le Mans welcomed 325,000 people over 2 days this year, which is 162,000 people per day.

The audience of GP Explorer is very young, mainly video game fans who have recently become interested in Formula 1 due to the enthusiasm shown by certain streamers or YouTubers like Depielo and Squeezie.

Exclusively broadcasted on the internet platform Twitch.tv, the GP Explorer 2 performed better than its predecessor, with 1.3 million viewers connected simultaneously, which is 300,000 more than last year. This event is therefore the most-watched on Twitch in France and the third most-watched on this platform worldwide.

Depielo, a passionate F1 Youtuber who covers all the Grand Prix races on his YouTube channel, secured the pole position on Saturday and dominated the race, comfortably winning the 2023 edition of the GP Explorer. He finished ahead of Sylvain Levy, co-host of the Vilebrequin channel, who had won the 2022 edition. Mr. Moustache completes the podium.

Note the presence of several girls in this race, including the impressive performance of Anastasia, as stated by AnaOnAir3, who finishes 5th out of the 24 participants.
