Max Verstappen: “I hope we can maintain this momentum for a long time”
Max Verstappen is crowned for a third time as F1 world champion after his victories in 2021 and 2022. The Red Bull driver dominated the season and his teammate. He reacts at the end of the sprint race.
On the microphone with Nico Rosberg, who was handling the post sprint race interviews, Max Verstappen gave his first impressions after winning this third consecutive crown. A very rare feat in Formula 1.
« Of course it’s a fantastic feeling, it’s been an incredible year, a lot of beautiful races. So of course I’m super proud but also proud of the team’s work. It’s really appreciable to be a part of this group of people, and to be a three-time world champion is just incredible. » commented the Red Bull driver at the end of the sprint race.
« We will continue to attack and do the best we can. Today was a fantastic race, it’s a shame about the safety cars but in the end it was nice and I’m really happy at the moment. »

« It’s something that I had never really dreamed of. Of course it’s a moment of great pride for me, for my family, my close family. Being able to live all of this together is incredible. And I’ve already said it on the radio during the in-lap. »
« We often talk about performance but I also find that the whole atmosphere there is between us and the fact that I love working with them so much, it makes the feeling even better. » he commented in a press conference.
The best title among the three
Max Verstappen’s first title was controversial, won by a thread at the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, against Lewis Hamilton. If the second title was, last year, seemed less straightforward than this year, Max Verstappen still considers 2023 as his best season.
« This one is the best. I think the first one was the most emotional, because that’s when your dreams come true in F1. But this one is definitely… my best year. We broke the record for consecutive wins and I had an incredible car. This is probably the one I’m most proud of, in a way, due to the domination we’ve had. »
