Mercedes generated more than 100 million euros in profits in 2022 in F1

According to the document published on the site of English companies, Mercedes’ F1 stable is doing well, even very well. The team recorded a turnover increase of over 476 million Pounds Sterling or 549.29 million Euros in 2022, an increase of nearly 100 million euros compared to 2021 (£ 383.3 million).

The company explains that despite its drops in revenue linked to its ranking in 2022, it has nonetheless managed to generate a considerable amount of value, especially for Mercedes and the team’s sponsors. The racing team estimates the media impact to be more than $5.81 billion.

The document specifically explains that a donation of one million dollars was made to UNICEF to help children in the war in Ukraine. 55 million dollars were also returned to shareholders.

An increasing workforce

Mercedes is a huge structure. If the paddock can only accommodate 100 people per team, the Mercedes factories total more than 1100 people in 2022. That’s 300 more than Alpine for example or twice as much as Aston Martin. Be careful, the Mercedes team also includes its engine part, not counted for example in the case of Aston Martin.

With 1114 employees in 2022, Mercedes welcomes 100 more people than the previous year, including 24 people in the design or engineering part, which are counted in the budget ceiling.

28.8 million euros in dividends for Toto Wolff

The team manager and one of the three shareholders of the stable received, through his MIL company, the sum of 28.8 million euros in dividends, the same as the other two shareholders: Mercedes and Ineos.

The document published on the English government’s website also specifies that Ineos contributes to the tune of 48 million Euros in sponsoring the German team.

It should also be noted that to Mercedes’ balance sheet, now adds the acquisition of its Brackley factory in England, which had previously been rented.
