Michael Schumacher’s schedule for the Jerez tests has been modified so that the seven-time world champion, now retired, will not be on track with his successor Kimi Räikkönen.
Luca Baldisserri revealed last week that the 38-year-old German will be present as a test driver in Jerez on December 4th.
It is now said that the German will conclude the Spanish trials, and that his entry into this event is therefore postponed by two days.
The first two days of testing, which constitute the last event of 2007, will see the recent world champion Kimi Räikkönen on track. Alongside him will be test driver Marc Gene.
« Kimi will be tested on December 4 and 5, and Michael on December 6 and 7, » a Ferrari spokesperson told the German newspaper Bild.
After more than a year on the sidelines, Schumacher gave a lesson to all the other drivers involved in Jerez a few weeks ago. Indeed, over his two days of testing, he was simply the fastest and showed that he hasn’t lost any of his immense talent.
« The comparison between Räikkönen and Schumacher will not take place, » announced the Italian sports daily Gazzetta dello Sport.
Like Räikkönen, the 2007 vice-champion Lewis Hamilton will also make his return after a break of a few weeks.
