With only two podiums this year, Petter Solberg ends the worst season of his career since 2001, during his first full season with Subaru. The Wales Rally GB or Rally of Great Britain will be his last chance to shine.
« Rally GB is the last event of the season, we have always done well there, » says Solberg – winner of the rally in 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2005.
« We will attack as hard as usual to achieve a good result. If the conditions are typical, wet with a lot of mud in the stages, I think we can do great things. »
Prodrive is the supplier and preparer of the Subaru Impreza WRC for the Japanese manufacturer. Competing in Great Britain is therefore another home event, another reason to achieve a good result: « It’s the home event for the team, everyone has a lot of experience there. We were even able to do some testing to prepare the setups. Phil lives near the course – which will benefit us greatly and, most importantly, we will have a lot of spectators on site! »
As many reasons for the Norwegian to leave a good impression despite an up-and-down season. Fifth in the World Championship before the final event, Petter Solberg can no longer catch up with Dani Sordo, who is fourth.
