Saturday: Ferrari is still not on track!

Ferrari is still not up to par. The team is working on the car’s balance. To achieve this, the KERS was removed this weekend, allowing for better weight distribution and attempting to find improved reliability.

Nevertheless, the lap times are still not the best, and being part of the top five teams on the grid remains challenging for Scuderia. As proof, a small mistake and Massa is not in the top 10. However, the morale is present and the desire remains intact.

Felipe Massa – 6th and 13th:

« My first fast lap in Q2 was very good, but on the second, I made a mistake at turn 9 and couldn’t make it to Q3. I was also in traffic, so my tires weren’t at the optimal temperature. We still have to work and try to do better than in the first two races. »

Regarding the KERS, for me it’s a handicap not having it here. We must try to use it as soon as we can.

Kimi Räikkönen – 9th and 8th:

« Of course, I am not satisfied with this eighth place, but given our current potential, we have to settle for it. The problem is always the same, we just aren’t fast enough. Driving the car isn’t too difficult, but it’s a whole set of things that make us a second behind the main competitors. »

« I hope we will see progress soon, but in the meantime, we are trying to do our best with what we have. I hope we will have a good race and that we can recover some points. Maybe with the KERS we would be a bit faster, or maybe not. I think it should have been installed on one of the two cars. »

Chris Dyer – Race Manager

« After the disappointment in Malaysia, this qualification is a bit of a glimmer of hope. Kimi [Räikkönen] is well placed, and Massa did not enter Q3, simply due to an error that made him miss the mark by less than a tenth. We have good strategies and the hope is there to score some points tomorrow. »
