Williams has settled into their routine. With Nico Rosberg, the goal of the second free practice session is to find the limits of the car. In the end, the German once again tops the timesheet and hopes to do the same tomorrow.
The Grove team has new aerodynamic elements, mainly added to Nico Rosberg’s car. He ranks first and fourth this morning, satisfied with his day.
Kazuki Nakajima, for his part, has the same car as in China but with an engine that is two specifications above Rosberg. The Japanese driver is close to the top 10 and hopes to do better tomorrow in qualifying.
Nico Rosberg – 4th and 1st:
« Currently, and this is the case for free practice sessions in general, we can only compare ourselves to other race weekends, and apparently we are okay. »
« We did a great job finding the right set-up today and I’m quite happy with what I was able to find. We made good progress. The team is even using new aerodynamic elements and they work quite well. Everyone is doing a great job continuing to develop the car. I am really convinced that we can score well here and that we can earn the points we deserve. »
Kazuki Nakajima – 11th and 10th:
« The day wasn’t too bad, but I’m still lacking in performance compared to Nico [Rosberg]. I’ll debrief all of this with my engineers tonight to find out where I can gain time to do better in qualifying tomorrow. »
« The circuit is getting better and better with each lap. It’s a good thing but it’s really very hot, yet still bearable! »
