Toyota, on behalf of its driver Jarno Trulli, will file a complaint with the stewards of the Monaco Grand Prix. The Italian claims that his chances of participating in Q2 were thwarted by Fernando Alonso driving for Renault.
Trulli, who has been searching for a rhythm since the start of the weekend, found himself behind the double world champion at the exit of La Rascasse during his flying lap.
While the Renault seemed to move to the left, the Toyota driver claimed he lost vital time.
« Every weekend, we were in the rhythm. I was on my way to get into Q2, but unfortunately, in the last two corners, I encountered Alonso’s Renault which blocked me. I lost my fast lap and that’s it, » explained the Toyota driver.
« We reported it to management and they are looking into the situation, and I’m sure they will take action. »
Alonso reached Q3 and qualified 9th on the grid for the Monaco GP.
