The FOTA has temporarily suspended the Williams team, following its decision to officially enter the 2010 Formula 1 World Championship, according to a statement released by the team.
The decision was made during a meeting of team directors at Heathrow this Wednesday.
Frank Williams, team owner, declared about this decision: « The FOTA’s decision is very unfortunate but understandable. »
« However, we have reacted like a racing team and a company whose sole activity is Formula 1, with obligations towards our partners and employees, our entry into the championship next year is indisputable. »
« Furthermore, we are legally bound, under our contract with the FOM and the FIA, to participate in the World Championship until the end of 2012. »
