Turkish GP: After Monaco, Williams is on the right track

The breakthrough may have appeared two weeks ago in Monaco for the Williams team. Nico Rosberg finally achieved an honorable position with 6th place. A position that better reflects his performance in practice. For Turkey, he is confident, always with the objective of finishing in the points.

His teammate, Kazuki Nakajima, has had much more difficulty since the beginning of the season. He has retired multiple times during races, as the Motors Inside consistency ranking shows. Nevertheless, he is preparing as best as he can for the Turkish Grand Prix.

Nico Rosberg – Racing Driver

I had hoped for a little more than sixth place in Monaco. Having found a good set-up, I felt comfortable on track in the car. This was evident during practice and then on Saturday in Q1 and Q2.

« Turkey is often a good circuit for us, and we should be able to score points. I like the circuit, and it is a change from the usual ones. There are good overtaking opportunities on a lap. »

« We are going to have updates for Turkey, I really hope that maybe we can take a step forward and score some points. It’s so difficult at the moment. There are teams that came from behind and are now ahead like Ferrari, then teams like Red Bull, Toyota, and Brawn GP that are still ahead of us. »

« It’s going to be very difficult for us to score points, but I really hope we can beat one or two cars with the updates. »

Kazuki Nakajima – Racing Driver

« After making it into the top ten in qualifying for the first time this year, I had hopes for a decent result in Monaco. The opening laps went well and I made a decent start, but then it became quite frustrating with a lot of traffic. »

« Turkey is one of the few circuits where you race counterclockwise. The lateral force reaches 4.5 g, so I will do significant work on my neck before the race. I don’t have much experience on this track since I had an accident last year on the first lap. However, it’s a circuit that could be suited to our car, with its mix of long and short straights and several corners for overtaking. »
