Saturday: Ferrari regains its colors and hope… but

Ferrari has recently made progress. The Italian team has significantly improved its position in the hierarchy over the past two races. This weekend, the team ranked 6th and 7th with Räikkönen and Massa.

The reds are making progress but still have untapped potential. The team is hard at work and hopes to get closer to the podium in the race. A long race where anything is possible.

Kimi Räikkönen – 9th and 6th:

« In qualifying, the car was more balanced than in free practice, but even with more fuel, we weren’t the fastest today. From the start, we’ve been trying to get the best out of the tires right from the first lap. So starting from the dirty side of the track won’t be easy, especially with all the races that take place here, making it so that as soon as you go off the racing line, you lose grip. We’ve made progress recently, but others have too. »

Felipe Massa – 1st and 7th:

With a low fuel load, the car was more balanced and had quite a bit of grip, but as soon as we filled the tank, the situation worsened and I suffered from oversteer, mainly with the soft tires. Honestly, I thought I would start from a better position, especially since we were competitive in Q1 and Q2. Starting from seventh place, it’s starting to be difficult to climb back to the podium, so we need to stay realistic. However, the race will be long and anything can happen and as usual, I will do my best.

Stefano Domenicali – Director:

« The qualifying went reasonably well, even if we are not where we wanted to be. From what we saw today, I think we haven’t yet realized the full potential of our car, especially in Q3. After that, we can hope for an open and contested race: we have a good strategy, and we need to make the best use of it to achieve a better result. »
