The Fan-F1 ranking after the Monaco GP

There is indeed an official ranking in Formula 1 which allocates points based on the importance of the positions achieved, that is with a decreasing scale of two-by-two for the top three positions. 10 points for the winner, 8 for the second place, and 6 for the third.

This scale only rewards drivers who finish in the top eight, and drivers who regularly place in the top 10 (9th and 10th, for example) are never acknowledged even though this position is almost as important as an eighth place, which usually awards one point.

To rectify the situation, casinoenlignefrance.eu.com invents the consistency ranking: Each driver receives a point according to their reverse order of finish, provided they have crossed the checkered flag. In case of retirement, they receive no points. The first receives 22 points, the second 21, the third 20, and so on… The 20th, if there is one, will therefore inherit only one point.

In the end, we obtain a ranking based on the position of the driver at the finish of each race, showing the consistency of each and allowing the driver to be rewarded for the work they provide to the team and not just according to their position.

This week, minor changes as 18 out of 20 drivers crossed the finish line. Button is still well ahead with 152 points. The surprise is Barrichello losing second place to Webber (119 compared to 118 points). Glock and Alonso remain 4th and 5th respectively. The mediocre performances of Hamilton (98 points) cause him to drop one place while Rosberg (104 points) gains one.

Heidfeld and Trulli remain 8th and 9th while Vettel enters the top 10 with the 10th place. He reaches this position thanks to or because of Bourdais’ last place in Turkey, which drops him down three positions. He is now 13th behind Massa and Räikkönen. These four drivers are separated by 12 points (82, 76, 73, and 70 points). Fisichella, Piquet, and Buemi retain their 14th, 15th, and 16th places.

Finally, Kubica moves up in the standings from 19th to 17th position. Kovalainen gets ahead of Sutil to take 18th place. Nakajima is still last.
