It will probably take two more races before the double diffuser is added to the back of the STR4.
During the month of May, the Red Bull Racing parent team presented the concept for their new aerodynamic device designed by Adrian Newey in Monaco. It had been said that a similar system would likely not be added to the STR4 before the Turkish Grand Prix.
At the time, Swiss driver Sébastien Buemi claimed that the necessary modifications for this diffuser were quite massive. It now appears that there will be a delay of at least two races before the car is equipped with the device.
Auto Motor und Sport indicated that the STR4 could have a double diffuser in Hungary at the end of July. This will of course vary depending on Red Bull’s development.
« I want to see how the diffuser works before we spend too much money, » said the Austrian team’s boss, Franz Tost.
