Wirth Research has confirmed an exclusive partnership with Manor Grand Prix to produce the cars for this new Formula 1 team for 2010.
The Formula 3 team is one of the three new teams added to the FIA entry list for next season. Former F1 chief designer Nick Wirth will work on the new car.
The services will be provided by WR Technology Ltd as well as Wirth Research.
« Until recently, even my closest friends and family told me that I had no interest in returning to Formula 1 car design, » said Wirth.
« It is only with these cost reductions, this new emphasis on design, and the resourcefulness of ingenious efficiency that Formula 1 has become a viable solution and a fascinating research challenge for Wirth. We will ensure that everyone benefits in a win-win system as my latest single-seaters have gained. »
We consider this project an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the quality of our work, to enhance our technology and engineering capabilities for the benefit of all our current and potential clients outside of Formula 1.
Furthermore, Manor will use Cosworth engines in 2010.
