British GP: Williams is confident for this race

The Williams team is currently on a good streak that has allowed them to temporarily secure sixth place in the championship at the expense of Renault. They have finally been able to capitalize on their good testing to achieve strong qualifying sessions and good races in Monaco and Turkey.

These qualities are mainly credited to Nico Rosberg since his teammate Kazuki Nakajima has yet to score any points this season. Both drivers will take advantage of their team’s reputation in Great Britain to give their best this weekend.

Nico Rosberg – Racing Driver:

Silverstone is quite a varied circuit, but it is very fast. Our car is much better suited to this type of circuit this year. Therefore, I’m going to Silverstone with an optimism not reached in recent years!

« You must take into consideration the high speed in the corners but also the relative slowness of the third sector. We have to work very hard to ensure we get the best balance on the car. Overtaking proves to be difficult at Silverstone, so the qualifying session will be very important. »

Even though I am German, it’s a special race because my team is British. The atmosphere at Silverstone is incredible, and I know many people come to support the team based near their homes. As a reward for all the efforts made this year, it would be great to achieve a very good result on Sunday.

Kazuki Nakajima – Racing Driver

« Silverstone is one of the oldest circuits and has kept much of its original layout. It is therefore one of the last typical circuits on which drivers can race. As you know, it is very demanding for the cars and drivers, but also and especially for the tires. The load placed on the tires in the fast corners is impressive, so we need to be very cautious with them. We also have to watch the sky, which can play tricks on us. »

« Everyone knows that the weather is unpredictable in the UK during the summer, and anything can happen. Silverstone is also exposed to quite strong winds, which can affect the car. We need to take this element into consideration for setting up the single-seater. »

I love going to Silverstone. Since I live in Oxford, for a few years now, this British Grand Prix has been a sort of home race for me, after the one in Japan. British fans really seem to love Formula 1. So it will be a bit livelier than in Turkey!
