Sébastien Bourdais has contradicted the rumors that claim the German Grand Prix will be his last race with Scuderia Toro Rosso.
Some reports in the French media have shown that the 30-year-old driver could be replaced after the Nurburgring by a young Red Bull driver like Jaime Alguersuari.
But Bourdais dismissed these rumors by stating that there had been no discussions with the team on the subject.
This rumor has been circulating since the middle of last season, Bourdais told Autosport. What can I say? I haven’t received any notice from the team stating that this is my last race, it’s still a rumor.
« I have a job to do, and that’s what I need to focus on. I cannot control what people say. »
« It’s very unfortunate, but there’s nothing we can do about it. »
Bourdais, who has scored only two points this season, added that he has a contract to finish the season with Toro Rosso and does not plan to leave F1.
« I have a contract that makes me participate in all races and that’s what I plan to do. The only thing I can say is that I’m in the car and that’s all that matters. »
