Glock relegated to last position on the grid

Timo Glock was relegated to the last position on the starting grid for the German Grand Prix after impeding Fernando Alonso during Saturday’s qualifying.

The Toyota driver was handed a three-place penalty, but in the end it only cost him one spot on the grid because he qualified in 19th position.

« I had just made a mistake and I was wondering if I should stay or install new tires, » said Glock.

« They told me to stay away, I accelerated and looked behind me and there was Alonso in the rearview mirror. I didn’t see him coming. »

The German also received a reprimand for this incident, as it was considered potentially dangerous by the race stewards.

Glock also admitted that he might choose to start from the pits for tomorrow’s race.
