Hungarian GP: Finally Favorable Conditions for Brawn GP

It’s a crucial weekend that the Brawn GP team is about to experience. Finally, the temperature conditions will be favorable for the Bridgestone tires on the BGP001. It’s a race not to be missed because it’s time to take back the power left in Red Bull’s hands.

Brawn GP has pulled out all the stops with new aerodynamic updates for this Hungarian GP. Drivers Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello are ready to give 100% as it’s crucial to stop the rise of the energy drink that has been flooding the circuits for the past two races! Quite an adventure!

Jenson Button – Racing Driver:

Hungary is still one of my favorite races because it will be a return to real summer temperatures! The circuit is very special to me since I have memories of my first Formula 1 victory there three years ago. It’s fantastic to go there with the possibility to compete for the win. The Hungaroring is a challenging circuit because it consists of many corners and there isn’t really any respite in a lap, but it is very fun to drive.

« A lap combines low-speed sections with other high-speed sections. On this track, you need impeccable grip, which is a real challenge to find the right setup. I was at home in Monaco last week to focus on this race, but the engineers at the factory and Mercedes-Benz have worked very hard on our latest updates. »

Rubens Barrichello – Race Driver:

Budapest is a wonderful city and there is always a great atmosphere around the circuit for the race weekend. The Hungaroring has been synonymous with good results for me in the past, with a victory and two podiums, so it’s a track that I enjoy. It’s fabulous to have a good car this year. Great Britain and Germany were quite frustrating races for us, despite the podium at Silverstone. We will focus even more on this second half of the season to get the best out of the car and our updates.

The Hungaroring is quite a physical track with high temperatures. It’s a real challenge for the drivers, but that’s what we love. It is not easy to overtake because the corners are quite slow. Therefore, it’s important to have a good qualifying session on Saturday and be able to start the race as high up on the grid as possible.

Ross Brawn – Team Principal:

« The last two races at Silverstone and the Nürburgring have been a source of frustration for the team as we have not been able to compete with our car while our competitors have taken a lead. However, we are confident that the intrinsic performance of the BGP 001, which was demonstrated in the first half of the season, has not disappeared and that the problems encountered were unique to certain races. »

« Our priority is now to maximize our performance while continuing to develop improvements that will maintain the suspense in the championship. We have an important aerodynamic upgrade for the Budapest race, which will bring gains in performance, efficiency, and downforce. The team has faced many challenges to get to where we are today, and I am confident that we have the people and resources to react and fight. We will maintain our leading position in the constructors and drivers’ championships. »
