Massa will remain in a coma for 48 hours

For a better recovery, Felipe Massa has been placed in an induced coma for at least 48 hours. This information comes from the doctors at the Budapest hospital.

Even though Massa briefly woke up on Sunday morning, the medical director of AEK Hospital, Pierre Bazso, stated that the Brazilian will remain in a coma for the next two days.

Bazso also states that Massa remained in intensive care in a stable condition, but the results are reassuring after the surgery for a skull fracture and concussion.

« These are good results that we had anticipated for an accident of this type. »

However, he notes that Massa remains in an acute phase of treatment.

After some tests this Sunday, Bazso concluded by saying that Massa was not neurologically affected following his accident, which was caused by a spring from Rubens Barrichello’s Brawn GP.
