Assessment: Another 4th place for Rosberg with Williams!

Certainly, Nico Rosberg seems to like the 4th place. For this Hungarian Grand Prix, the 10th round of the championship, Williams once again had a good race but the objective is still not achieved as they are still not on the podium. Rosberg therefore took advantage of the retirements of Vettel and Alonso to get a little closer to this elusive podium. Notably, his FW31 had a very good race pace.

Kazuki Nakajima did not underperform but once again he finishes just outside the points in 9th position. A situation that may eventually irritate his team since currently everything rests on the shoulders of his teammate. Williams has therefore well earned their vacation before the next F1 event in a month.

Nico Rosberg – 4th:

I am very happy with today’s result because the start was difficult with the cars having KERS. Initially, I had no chance, but the first corner was very complicated for everyone to negotiate, and I managed to take advantage of this situation and climb to fifth place, which is important. During the race, I had to manage the tires carefully due to the graining present in both the first and second stints. Considering all these issues, we have to be very happy with fourth place, and I am now in fifth place in the championship. My thoughts are with Felipe [Massa] who did not start with us today. In any case, I still enjoy working with the team, and everyone is working really well, so we will keep improving.

Kazuki Nakajima – 9th:

« After the first lap when I passed Jenson [Button], I couldn’t hold my position and once he was in front of me, he dictated my race. It was very difficult to improve my position for the rest of the day despite having a good pace with the car in traffic. We just need to keep working and soon, in a race, I will score points. »

Sam Michael – Technical Director

« It’s good to score points with Nico [Rosberg]’s fourth place, even if our expectations are aimed at a podium. It’s frustrating to see Kazuki [Nakajima] so close to the point for 8th place. Both drivers had a good race, as shown by Nico’s third-fastest lap time. Everything is going well and in the right direction, we need to earn a few more points.
