Rubens Barrichello says he is very encouraged by the health condition of his opponent and friend, Felipe Massa, after spending Wednesday afternoon with the Ferrari driver. Massa has not yet fully recovered from his skull fracture which occurred after a dramatic accident during the Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying session. Indeed, a spring from Barrichello’s car came loose from his BGP001 single-seater and crashed right into Massa’s helmet.

And, with the complicity that exists between the two Brazilians, Barrichello did not miss the opportunity to visit Massa upon his return to Brazil. Via his Twitter account, he stated: « I spent the afternoon with Felipe … he looks great and is exactly the same person as before. Thank God. »

Despite Massa’s quick recovery, the Brawn driver believes that talking about a prompt return to the cockpit is a bit premature: « For Felipe to return, patience is necessary… he must be 100% fit before driving again, » added Barrichello.
