The Valencia Grand Prix has undertaken significant modifications ahead of this weekend’s second Formula 1 race at the site. The aim is to enhance safety for all drivers. Even though last year’s event was considered a success, feedback from drivers and the FIA prompted a series of changes to this street circuit.
The pit exit has been revised to bring it to the same level as the track, and the wall separating the two sections of the circuit at this point has been completely removed. The surface of the ground in the pit lane has been changed. It is now a type of resin that will increase grip levels.
The walls around turns 3, 5, 9, 10, and 14 have been moved further away from the track, while the curbs at the exit of turns 4 and 5 have also been extended. Additionally, artificial grass has been installed behind the curbs at the exit of turns 10 and 14 to deter drivers who might want to cut the chicane.
