Sébastien Loeb still thinks about a future in Formula 1

Sébastien Loeb would still be interested in continuing his career in Formula 1. The Frenchman stated on Tuesday that he was ready to satisfy his curiosity by participating in a Grand Prix. The French newspaper l’Equipe revealed Tuesday that Loeb’s managers have contacted the new American F1 team, USF1, about a possible selection in 2010.

And although Loeb may still make his F1 debut for Scuderia Toro Rosso at the last race of the season in Abu Dhabi, he has also expressed the desire to gain experience in F1 in the near future if the opportunity presents itself.

« After the Abu Dhabi episode, Toro Rosso asked me if I really wanted to do something in F1, » said the rally champion. « On my side, I wanted to know if I had any interest, just out of curiosity. So someone I know got in touch with this new team [US F1]. I don’t know what he said. »

He added: « I really enjoy driving a WRC car, and I am about to extend my contract with Citroën. However, if the opportunity to race in F1 Grand Prix in 2010 arose and the rally schedule did not clash with the Formula 1 schedule, then why not? »
