It’s been a long time since we saw Williams in this situation. The reason comes from the sky…
The rain this morning disrupted the plans of Nico Rosberg and Kazuki Nakajima. Both drivers did no better than 12th place for the entire day. Worse, the German is second to last tonight with only Luca Badoer behind him. The team believes in his comeback at the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.
Nico Rosberg – 12th and 19th:
« It was not a good day today. The car was not up to speed, and on top of that, the weather this morning was not on our side. We only had one session to try and make a difference, which was not enough given the position we were in. We made some big changes and got some answers back, but we need to think it over tonight and try to find a solution. »
Kazuki Nakajima – 15th and 15th:
« It was a difficult day for us. The balance of the car wasn’t too bad but we need to find more performance in the car. There are aspects we can change. »
Sam Michael – Technical Director
« The weather was variable this morning, so it was a bit difficult to see where everyone stood. The rain this morning slowed us down in our schedules and it was difficult to complete all of our work. We are not in a normal competitive position. However, we tested a lot of things today and have obtained some directions to take, so we will look into that tonight and do everything we can to make a big step tomorrow. »
