The photos of the second day of the Belgian Grand Prix, the twelfth round of the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship, are now available. Discover in pictures one of the most beautiful circuits on the calendar in a very surprising context.
Photos are undoubtedly the best way to closely study the details of a Formula 1 single-seater and understand the aerodynamic innovations implemented by the engineers.
For Spa, a very fast track with long corners, the race cars need to find a very good balance, sometimes favoring top speed over cornering grip. Teams then arrive with specific packages. The wings are the main objects modified.
BMW Sauber is thus equipped with the shark fin. Toyota and Williams have opted for a much wider front wing. Toro Rosso has a new nose, even flatter than the Red Bull, while McLaren and Ferrari have primarily worked on the rear wing to reduce disruptions.
Today’s photos obviously concern Free Practice 3 and the Qualifying sessions.
