Friday: Buemi better than Alguersuari at Toro Rosso

Toro Rosso attacks with force this new race weekend in Italy as the team became the last team on the grid in the championship two weeks ago in Belgium. So, it is with a mix of pride and revenge that the Faenza drivers have embarked on these first tests.

The result is quite encouraging as Sébastien Buemi achieves very good times both this morning and this afternoon. He places in the top 10 with a peak at 6th place in the first free practice session. Jaime Alguersuari is still somewhat reserved due to his early arrival in Formula 1. It was an opportunity for him to discover the temple of speed. He ranks between 15th and 17th place today.

Sébastien Buemi – 6th and 10th:

« We had a good day, laps without any problems in both sessions. Now, we just need to find some speed for tomorrow when we’ll have a new engine, so we’ll wait and see what we can do. It’s nice to drive on a high-speed track because it gives you a different feeling as you reach speeds you don’t see anywhere else. »

Jaime Alguersuari – 17th and 15th:

« I found it quite difficult to drive for the first time with this low downforce package, as I had no experience in F1. But it’s a good thing because it’s part of my learning process. I felt like I was discovering new things with the different types of tires or with different fuel loads. I had a good feeling in the car. We have a reasonable setup on the car, but I think we can still improve it for tomorrow. »
