The FIA unveils its 2010 calendar with 19 races scheduled!

The FIA World Motor Sport Council announced that the 2010 calendar will indeed feature 19 races, confirming the return of Canada. The board also confirmed that South Korea will make its Formula 1 debut next year with a date in October.

Next year the championship will start in Bahrain, as announced earlier this year, with Australia moving to the second place on the calendar. Canada, absent in 2009, will return in June as before, provided that negotiations with FOM (Formula One Management) are completed within the allotted time. Brazil will close the season on November 14, 2010.

The 2010 calendar is therefore as follows:

Sunday, March 14: Bahrain GP

Sunday, March 28: Australian GP

Sunday, April 4: Malaysian GP

Sunday, April 18: Chinese GP

Sunday, May 9: Spanish GP

Sunday, May 23: Monaco GP

Sunday, May 30: Turkish GP

Sunday, June 13: Canadian GP

Sunday, June 27: European GP (Valencia)

Sunday, July 11: British Grand Prix

Sunday, July 25: German GP

Sunday, August 1: Hungarian GP

Sunday, August 29: Belgian GP

Sunday, September 12: Italian GP

Sunday, September 26: Singapore GP

Sunday, October 3: Japanese GP

Sunday, October 17: South Korean GP

Sunday, October 31: Abu Dhabi GP

Sunday, November 14: Brazilian GP

* Subject to the completion of the contract negotiations with Formula One Management. If these are not completed, then the Turkish Grand Prix will be moved to June 6.

Note: The race in Australia will start at 5:00 PM local time, in Malaysia at 4:00 PM local time, in Singapore at 8:00 PM local time, and in Abu Dhabi at 5:00 PM local time.
