The Fan-F1 rankings after the Japan GP

There is indeed an official ranking in Formula 1 that allocates points according to the importance of the positions achieved, with a descending scale of two for the top three places. 10 points for the winner, 8 for the second place, and 6 for the third.

This scale only rewards drivers who finish in the top eight; drivers who consistently finish in the top 10 (9th and 10th, for example) are never acknowledged even though this position is almost as important as an eighth position, which usually awards a point.

To rectify the situation, casinoenlignefrance.eu.com invents the consistency ranking: Each driver receives a point based on their reverse order of finishing, provided they have crossed the checkered flag. In case of retirement, they receive no points. The first receives 22 points, the second 21, the third 20, and so on. The 22nd, if there is one, will therefore earn just one point.

In the end, we obtain a ranking based on the finishing position of each race, showing the consistency of each participant and allowing the driver to be rewarded for the work they provide within the team and not solely based on their position.

Glock and Alonso are the two big losers of this race weekend in Japan concerning the Motors Inside consistency ranking. Button and Barrichello remain the undisputed leaders with 273 and 261 points respectively. The third, Rosberg, is further back with 230 points. Webber gains a rank despite finishing last, at the expense of Glock (-2 places), who did not participate in the Japanese event. However, the gap between the two drivers is narrow (216 against 212 points). Hamilton is now solely holding on to 6th place ahead of Räikkönen (+1 place) and Vettel (+1 place). Alonso drops to the 9th position with a decrease of 3 places. The last four drivers are within 7 points! No change from the 10th to the 14th place with Heidfeld, Trulli, Fisichella, Kovalainen, and Kubica in that order. Massa loses another place concerning Nakajima. Sutil, Buemi, Piquet, Bourdais, and Grosjean remain positioned between 17th and 21st rank. Liuzzi is closing in on the Frenchman. Alguersuari and Badoer drop one position.
