Vatanen gains decisive support in his campaign

Ari Vatanen, candidate for the position of FIA president, welcomed the statements of support addressed to him by the Ukrainian Automobile Federation (FAU). The president of the FAU, Yevhen Tchervonenko, wrote to similar organizations in Eastern Europe and the former USSR to urge them to choose Vatanen over Jean Todt.

« The creation of a link between motorsport, the transfer of modern technologies to millions of motorists, the support of clubs, the various federal administrations, the participation of each club in the decisions of the FIA is how we envision the future of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile. In this way, I propose Ari Vatanen as president of the FIA. That is why I encourage you to support Ari Vatanen, to take a step forward together, » said Tchervonenko.

Vatanen stated that Tchervonenko’s actions highlight a campaign rich in support: « This latest show of support not only adds momentum to our cause but also underscores the widespread desire for a new direction across the member clubs from the largest to the smallest within the FIA. »

« It is particularly important that the small clubs, given the structure of the FIA, form the foundation of the FIA family. They have their own issues, and I believe their interests must be protected in a very meticulous manner. »

Vatanen participated a few days ago in a conference of Arab automobile organizations in Jordan, hosted by HRH Prince Faisal Al Hussein, appointed vice-president of Vatanen (Sport) for the Middle East. Mishaal Al Sudairy, President of the Saudi Arabian Automobile Federation, stated that Prince Faisal’s role in Vatanen’s campaign had boosted its position in the Middle East.
