Coulthard and Brundle inaugurate the Abu Dhabi circuit!

David Coulthard and Martin Brundle – two former Formula 1 drivers and now sports commentators on the English BBC channel – had the honor of driving on the Yas Marina Circuit. The new Abu Dhabi track, just completed, has been tested by several experienced drivers, including David Coulthard (McLaren-Mercedes and Red Bull Renault).

The two men were invited by the officials of the Abu Dhabi circuit – the Yas Marina Circuit – to be the first to drive on the new asphalt of the United Arab Emirates. David Coulthard and Martin Brundle were sent by the BBC and accompanied by two other local drivers.

The four judges tested the new track behind the wheels of different models – including a GP2, a two-seater F3, and a latest-generation Nissan GT-R – all adorned with the circuit’s colors: blue and white.

The work is finally completed on the track eagerly awaited by Formula 1 fans due to the race schedule. It should start during the day to finish at night, providing viewers with the sunset.

The official inauguration of the circuit and facilities will take place on October 16th. No major figures from Formula 1 are expected to be present due to the Brazilian GP. They will all gather a few days later in Abu Dhabi to race for the first time in the Emirates.
