Altran formalizes the extension of its contract with Renault

Altran, technological partner of the Renault F1 Team since 2002, confirms its support for the team for the upcoming Formula 1 season.

Altran is the European leader in innovation consulting and advanced technologies. The group’s 17,500 consultants worldwide cover all engineering fields: electronics, information technology, quality, organization… They support companies throughout their innovation process, from technological monitoring, applied fundamental research, management consulting, to preparation for industrialization and information systems in most sectors of activity: automotive, aeronautics, space, telecommunications… Founded in 1982, the Altran group is present in 20 key countries. It generated a turnover of €1,650.1 million in 2008.

« It is important in a partnership relationship to affirm one’s unconditional support. Formula 1 is a sport in constant evolution, where technological choices have immediate repercussions on the car of a season. It is meeting this challenge alongside the men and women of the Renault F1 team that excites us daily. », emphasizes Pascal Brier, Deputy CEO of the Altran group.

For 8 years, Altran has been supporting the Renault F1 Team by providing talented engineers in various specialties (calculations, electronics, logistics, quality) at the Enstone (England) site for chassis activities and at Viry-Châtillon, near Paris, for engine activities.

For Renault F1 Team, Altran takes on the challenges of performance modeling.

Aerodynamics thanks to the CFD Center (Center for Simulation by Computational Fluid Dynamics). Within the team, its action also applies to optimizing calculations on test benches to better understand embedded strategies, to developing the telemetry system for private testing, and to the continuous improvement of the Virtual Car’s performance to simulate an entire race weekend.
