As we announced to you a few days ago on casinoenlignefrance.eu.com, Frank Williams confirmed that his team will use Cosworth engines next year. Although the Grove team has so far remained silent about its engine plans, it has finally decided in recent weeks to partner with Cosworth after completing discussions with Renault.
Now, Franck Williams has revealed his intentions for 2010, after stating to the Gulf News that his team will source engines from Cosworth: « We have ended our contract with Toyota and have decided to partner with the British engine manufacturer Cosworth, with whom we have won many world championships in the past. »
They are located a few dozen kilometers from our factory, which is very convenient. In addition, we want to be more independent. We will have less influence from our engine manufacturer. After Toyota, we want to follow a more private and independent path.
He added: « Our performances need to be improved. We lost pace during the second half of the 2009 season. It’s essential for the car to be fast, but from what I’ve seen this year, we should have been a bit more competitive. »
Williams also revealed that the team will soon present its drivers for next year. The announcement will be made on Monday with a line-up likely consisting of Rubens Barrichello and Nico Hülkenberg: « We will announce our drivers for the next season on Monday. Nico Rosberg will leave, and we believe it was time for him to go. »
There will be new developments at Williams for next season, with our engines for example. We think we can do better. Nico [Rosberg] is German and Mercedes needs at least one German driver in its teams.
