Lotus appoints Riad Asmat as head of the team

The Lotus Formula 1 team, which will participate in the 2010 season, has appointed a new CEO – Chief Executive Officer. It is Rias Asmat, known for having been the Head of the Malaysian automotive group Proton.

The Malaysian team, which will be making its return to F1 next season, confirmed its commitment to F1 during a conference in Sepang this morning and announced the immediate arrival of Asmat within the group.

Tony Fernandes, who leads the Formula 1 team, has been confirmed in his position and will therefore follow the instructions of his new superior. He commented: « Riad Asmat’s expertise in the automotive sector coupled with his knowledge in motorsport will surely make him a dynamic and brilliant leader. It’s someone like him that the team needed. »

This choice makes me even more confident for the future of the first Malaysian F1 team.

Note that the official name of the team approved by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile) will be Lotus F1 Racing. New images of the L0001 will be available soon on casinoenlignefrance.eu.com
