The Renault F1 Team is pleased to announce that Robert Kubica has extended his contract by two years. He will be a regular Renault driver until the end of the 2012 season.
The 25-year-old Polish driver had an exceptional first half of the 2010 season, during which he secured two podium finishes, in Australia and Monaco. He is currently in sixth place in the World Drivers’ Championship standings.
Robert Kubica comments: « For me, the decision to continue with a team where I feel at home was easy to make. What matters to me is working in a positive atmosphere, with a good group of people, where everyone does their best to go in the right direction. This is precisely the relationship we have tried to build since I joined Renault.
I believe that we have already achieved many things together, and with great effort and a good approach, we will go even further. That is certainly our objective. We will therefore continue our effort and do what is necessary in all areas; not only in the second half of the season but also next year with the new regulations that will come into effect. I look forward to taking on this challenge.
Genii Capital and Renault, co-owners of the Renault F1 Team, have set the goal of competing for the world title in the upcoming seasons. Their vision and commitment, supported by sustained technical development in 2010, convinced Robert Kubica that the Renault F1 Team could meet his ambitions.
